On January 26th & 27th, 2001, Magnaflow Performance Exhaust held their Grand Opening for the R&D Facility.   With over 40,000sq. ft, two chassis dynos, a Superflow Flowbench, and a Superflow Engine Dyno on its way, this was quite an impressive facility.  Hundreds of media personnel attended, as well as numerous dealers/installers.  Magnaflow not only had the RLR/Magnaflow New Beetle on display, they also had various vehicles that they have done.  Throughout both days, numerous vehicles were strapped done to one of the chassis dynos and pulls were made.  Please visit Magnaflow Performance at http://www.magnaflow.com at let them know you saw the RLR/Magnaflow New Beetle!

RLR took advantage of the opportunity to put its New Beetle Pro Mod on the chassis dyno.  We were able to locate the ignition problem that had been haunting us all year in the year 2000.   After numerous pulls, the RLR/Magnaflow New Beetle made a best-pull of over 380 horse, AT THE REAR WHEELS!  If you do the math, that's over 450 horse at the flywheel!  Below you will find a downloadable video clip of this impressive dyno pull.  Don't be alarmed by the flash at the end of the clip; its only nitrous & fuel igniting in the tail pipe when the motor bounced off the rev limiter.  Also, can you hear when the nitrous is acitvated and the tires spin on the drum?
